Come, All Ye Faithful!
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10 (NKJV)
During this holiday season, we revisit many songs and carols which are designed to praise our King. This is definitely a wonderful way to lift up our Savior through our worship and praise. When listening to this song which entitles this devotional, it was of great encouragement to remain faithful throughout the year to the King of all Kings! According to this scripture, you were designed for good works; works which were prepared in advance for you to do. And because you were uniquely and wonderfully made, no one can walk in your purpose and no one can walk in your blessings, but you! One of the things I love about our Creator is that no one can crowd your divine purpose. There is a vastness to God that you can never run out of purpose in Him!
There are many references to His faithfulness in scripture and to yours as well. He is always faithful as promised; we should aim to be as well. Because evil is always around, the temptation to go astray happens when we face trials. You may feel like you have no hope or direction. When you don’t know which way to turn, look up! The most important thing for you to do during this time is remain faithful. Remain steadfast and immovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord. His faithfulness will bring you out. When you come out, it’s nothing you can even take credit for because His goodness surpasses anything we could ever create on our own.
Wouldn’t it be such a wonderful thing for Christ to personally call you faithful? Not the shepherds, or the people of the time of Jesus’ birth heading to Bethlehem to see a child born in a manger, but YOU! Faithful to what He has called you to do, faithful to your relationship with Him, faithful to your ministry, and faithful to the well-being of your family. You: a faithful servant of God. That is what we all ultimately long to hear. Press on, Daughters of The King! His grace is always sufficient!
Prayer: Father, thank You so much for Your grace that I might be saved. I will continue to be faithful to Your Word and to Your will for my life! I know without You I am nothing, and with You, all things are possible. I am equipped to do good works. I am ready to move into the destiny You have prepared just for me. Thank You for every good and perfect gift which comes from You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
