“Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow” (James 1:17, NLT).
When God blesses you with a gift, you don’t have to look for defects or for something to go wrong. You don’t have to worry about His gift abandoning you, abusing you or trying to destroy your life. It is a good and perfect gift from above. It is purposely crafted and designed to bless you, to meet a need, to enrich you and add no sorrow with it. A gift from God will make you smile, not make you cry; will fill you with great joy, not sadness (see Proverbs 10:22).
Maybe you are trying to force a relationship to be more than what it really is because you are afraid of being alone. Maybe you are desperate to feel loved. Understand that anything from God doesn’t have to feel forced. It doesn’t have to be something you are trying to make happen on your own. If you will submit to God completely He will bless you with a relationship that is like heaven on earth. Unforced. Good. Complete. So let go of your past and trust Him.
“Will you trust Me?” God asks, “I desire to bless you in ways you’ve never known. Will you receive My love, My gifts and My way of doing things? The blessings I have for you will change how you view everything. Let go of what you’ve known in your past and receive by faith the gift I have for you.”
You can trust that if God blessed you with a divine relationship, He will help you nurture it. Don’t question it. Simply receive it and let it bless your life in the way God designed.
Prayer: My loving Father, thank You for Your gifts to me. You are good and You fill my life with good things. I thank You for helping me to let go of the past so I can receive the gifts you have for me in your perfect timing. I trust You. Help me recognize when You place a gift in my path. I pray for the grace to nurture and respect what You place in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
