A Mother’s Love
“Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Psalms 127:3
Have you ever looked at your children, knew they were yours, but didn’t feel emotionally connected to them? Deep depression caused me to feel disconnected emotionally from my children. I would feed them, clothe them, buy them things, and take them places, but in my heart I couldn’t feel the love a mother naturally has for her children. After God healed me of depression and helped me make necessary changes in my life, I began to pray for Him to turn my heart back towards my children and for Him to turn their heart toward me. It wasn’t even a day that went by that I began to feel a deep love and warmth in my heart towards them again. I embraced them as mine and began to enjoy them again. It was a wonderful change that had taken place in me. Glory to God! Through this God showed me that He truly cares about the smallest details of our life, even a mother’s desire to feel a genuine and deep love for the precious gifts He has given to her. Our children are a gift from the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. They deserve not only to be fed and clothed, but to receive attention and an enormous amount of love and affection from their mothers. Whether you are a mother, a grandmother, or a legal guardian, pray for God to refocus you toward what is most important in life and to turn your heart towards the precious gifts He has given you.
Prayer: Father God, I thank You for the gifts you have given me. I pray You heal me and refocus me. Help me to make the necessary changes in my life so I can give my children the love and attention they deserve. Lord I pray you turn my heart toward my children and turn their heart toward me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. (Read Malachi 4:6)
