A Reflection of Our Father

Posted on Posted in devotions

My 5 month old daughter refuses to take a bottle. Despite our best efforts, she simply refuses. She’s been like this from day 1, strong-willed and persistent. I can’t say I don’t know where it comes from. Looking at her is like looking at a direct reflection of me. As daughters of the King, people should be able to look at us and see our Heavenly Father. Our characteristics should bear witness to His qualities. When people see you, they should also see Him. We must continually remind ourselves of who we represent in order to prevent giving a false impression of the Father. Let’s strive to give His name justice.

Philip said, ‘Lord, show us the Father and we will be satisfied.’ Jesus replied, ‘Philip, don’t you even know who I am, even after all the time I have been with you? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking to see him?” John 14: 8-9 (NLT)

Lord,
Thank You for revealing who You truly are to us. Forgive us if we have misrepresented You in any way. Help us to receive Your power to be witnesses in this earth so that others may come to know You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
