“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, ESV.
I have a best friend who gives the best hugs. She could sell her hugs for money and I would be the first in line to buy them all. Do you know anyone who gives great hugs? Is it your mother? Your grandmother? Your father? I believe there are people that God has blessed with the ministry of hugs. Their hugs are filled with so much love and warmth, and if you’re like me, you find yourself asking, “Can you please hug me again?”
That’s how the comfort of the LORD is; it is like a giant bear hug to our hearts. His comfort lets us know everything is going to be alright. Whether He leads us to a Scripture, places a song on our hearts, or uses someone to encourage us, God’s comfort is powerful.
Be comforted by the LORD and His Word today. Everything will be alright. Receive His warm heart hug and let Him use you to comfort someone else.
Prayer: Father God, I know you are real, but today I need to feel your warm embrace. Your comfort to my heart lets me know that everything is going to be alright. So I ask that you bless me with a warm heart hug and comfort with your love. The same comfort you give me, help me to comfort others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
