“And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talithacumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.”  Mark 5: 42-43

I have spent most of my life playing dead. I would accept whatever came my way, good or bad. I was paralyzed within my own mind and emotions to make a choice. I pretended that all well with me. I didn’t believe my voice was worth being heard or my ideas worth being expressed. I played dead

I would watch others grow in their gifts and talents and wondered why I couldn’t grow in mine. I didn’t understand the depth of my inner healing would be the altitude of my success. We too, like Jesus have to put out the mocking voices. Those voices that tell us we aren’t good enough. We missed the opportunity. We can’t excel. We aren’t smart enough. We can’t make profitable decisions.

When the Lord Jesus Christ bore the cross with all of its shame and scorn, He was taking us by the hand and lifting us up.

We don’t have to play dead any longer. We no longer have to entertain the words of those voices once believed. We are strengthen in Him to take it one success at a time no matter how small.

He said to You and me, Talitha cumi Arise!

Prayer: Jesus thank you for lifting me up and speaking Arise over my life. Lord I thank you for the gifts and talents you have given to me. Holy Spirit I ask that you help me to use them to the full so that I may bring glory to the Father’s Name. In the Son I pray.
