Window Shopping

A man’s heart plans his way: but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV)

So, you have been eyeing that product from afar for a month now. Each time you pass by the store, you are surprised that the item is still sitting on the shelf. You have vowed that as soon as you have the money, you are going to go in and claim it as yours. Until that time, you purposefully admire the item with the hope that it will still be there when you are ready to get it. This is how many of us handle the plans and visions God has given us to obtain. We window shop for the things God has already claimed to be our own. We envision ourselves doing what God has told us to do, but have not yet acted on it. We remain hopeful, but fail to turn that hope into an act of faith. We are waiting when God is saying, “Go!” God has provided all the resources needed once we take those initial steps of faith in following the plans of God. The gifts that God has placed within you can go untouched when you focus your sights on what others display on the world stage. God says that you have something just as beautiful to offer. No need to window shop when God has handed you a Black Card without limits to obtain it. It’s your time, go get it!

Prayer: Father, I submit to Your will and Your way. You know the right timing for everything to unfold in my life.  Show me what You want me to do and propel me forward into doing it. Help me to not procrastinate but to go and obtain what You have already provided. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
