Armed and Dangerous

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

We live in a day of pure skepticism. People are looking for every reason to not believe the true message of the Gospel. While there are those who may never believe, we must do our part in having an accurate knowledge of the Bible. It’s not enough to tell someone, “You should listen to me, because this is what my Pastor said.” We must know what the Bible says for ourselves. The pastor, teacher and evangelist are not the only ones that God expects to diligently study and prepare. God expects every believer to know their Bible through and through and be prepared. He wants us armed and dangerous in these last days with an accurate knowledge of His truth. The enemy has studied us and knows what works in our lives. He knows the Scripture and how to twist it in order to deceive. How will we be able to fight a highly skilled enemy unless we know what God’s Word says? We must prepare ourselves. Knowledge increases strength. It also puffs up, but with the help of Holy Ghost, we can maintain an attitude of love and humility no matter how much we learn. To study means to use speed, to make effort, to be prompt or earnest. You may not be naturally inclined to studying anything, but the Holy Ghost lives within you and He can grow your hunger and thirst for knowledge of God. Arm yourself and store up. You will need every Scripture you place in your heart either for yourself or to help someone else.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word to me. I receive it in my heart. I pray that You give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Open my understanding so that I can see what You want me to see. Help prepare for this day and time. Teach me Lord and help me discern anything false. Develop in me a love for Your Word. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
