“The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself” Proverbs 11:25, NKJV.
When I see a man or woman of God doing the work they were designed to do, and whenever I am consistently blessed by the word they share, my heart is moved. I ask myself, how can I be a blessing to them? It is the same as when I go to eat dinner at someone’s home, or when I’m at a restaurant and I receive impeccable service from my server, I ask myself, with my satisfied stomach, how can be a blessing to them? When on the phone with a customer service representative that goes above and beyond to make sure I’m happy, I ask to speak to their manager so I can sing their praises, with hopes they will receive a bonus.
To have a generous soul is to be enriched, looking to make others enriched. The question always on their mind is, how can I be a blessing? We want to be refreshed but are we watering others and ministering to their needs? Everyone wants to be blessed, but everyone doesn’t want to be a blessing in the way God has instructed them to be.
Prayer: Lord, I repent for not being the blessing you’ve created me to be. Make me a generous soul. You live on the inside of me, and I know You are there to change and enrich every part of me so I can be a blessing. I submit to You and I’ll do what You ask of me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
