Imagine your husband as a wide receiver for the family. It’s his job to catch the ball and run to score a touchdown. He is responsible to receive the vision from God for his family, and then run to score a victory. Because we live in a generation of industrious, intelligent and highly ambitious women, we can easily forget that we were made to help our husbands. Many women have goals and dreams, but their husbands may not. He may lack vision. So what’s a girl to do? Do you say, “Oh well! Sorry for you! I’m moving forward towards my goals!” When God made woman from the rib of Adam and presented her to him, she was presented to him as his helper. She was bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh, designed to help that man reach his full potential and score big for his family. What happens when the wife abandons her assignment and moves forward in her dream, while her husband is left high and dry? The family unit doesn’t get led to victory, only she does. That’s not the way God designed it. God’s order for the family is that the man leads the family to total victory, and He has put us in our husband’s lives to help them reach it. So it’s our job to pray consistently for them, to stay built up in the word, to encourage them, be their teammate and to take care of the home as they run. If your husband hasn’t yet received the vision for the family, you have some work to do. You have some praying to do. If your husband has received the vision, but doesn’t yet know how to run with it, you have some praying to do. Focus in on him and you will find that your dreams are wrapped up in his. As long as you are staying true to God’s divine order of helping him, God will make sure he helps you also. Your dreams are important too, but they must be kept in their proper place so that the bigger picture for the family can be reached. So team up with him! Pray that God gets the vision to him and assist where he needs it most, then encourage your baby to run and score big!!!!!!
“And Adam gave names to all the livestock and to the birds of the air and to every [wild] beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his side and closed up the [place with] flesh. And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. Then Adam said, This [creature] is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of a man.” Genesis 2:20-23 (KJV)
You designed me to help my husband, to help him maximize his potential. He is to seek You for the vision and plan that will lead our family to victory. Show me how to help him in the way he needs it most. I receive Your grace to be the wife he needs, the teammate that encourages rather than ridicules, and a wife that is a tremendous blessing to him. Help him to run with the vision and score. My life is in Your hands, and as I submit to Your way of doing things, you will bring the dreams and plans You have placed in my heart to pass. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
