Be Not Afraid, Only Believe

“As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.” Mark 5:36

Many of us are being rocked by our situations and are tempted to go inward and not decree anything. But in this story with Jesus, we learn how the ruler desperately wanted his daughter healed and while on the way, bad news came saying, “Your daughter is dead.” But Jesus spoke up. The Bible says, “As soon as Jesus heard the word spoken, he said…” Here you have the Word of God made flesh, hearing something contrary to what He knows to be true, and He speaks to the ruler, “Be not afraid, only believe.” We must follow Jesus’ example. As soon as you hear that negative doctor’s report, say with your mouth, “No, I am healed and I am delivered by the blood of Jesus! I’m healed from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet! I will live and not die. I will declare the wonderful works of the Lord!. I will fulfill every detail and iota of His divine purpose for my life in 100% health! My body, heart and mind functions in the way God designed it to function in Jesus’ name! (see 1 Peter 2:24; Psalm 118:17)”

Too often sin make cowards of us. You may have stressed yourself out and now sickness has attached itself to your body. You may have smoked, drank alcohol and abused your body and now you’re hearing a bad doctor’s report. You may not think you deserve healing, but God stills wants to heal you. He loves you. He is gracious and He is good. Open up your mouth and speak His words as soon as you hear the bad report. Speak over your body. Speak over your life. Speak His Word boldly and courageously!

Prayer: Lord, you’re talking directly to me and I thank you. I haven’t done everything right, but you’re not looking at all that. You’re looking at me with the most loving eyes and gentle heart. Thank you for forgiving me of all sin and healing me. I surrender to you and I open my mouth and speak your word. I choose not  to be afraid, but only believe in you. In the name of Jesus.

(Read Mark 5:23-43; 2 Corinthians 4:13)
