Be still and know that I am God.

He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” Psalm 46:9-11 (NKJV)

When you are still in God, you are still in your own ways and methods. You cease from your works and you let God work through your obedience. Stillness is not sitting down. It’s moving forward in obedience to His commands. It’s removing all of the sweat and toil from trying to make it happen on your own and choosing to trust God’s methods. God has more than one way to get you what you need. He has more than a number of ways to get you to His expected end. He is not limited, so don’t you limit Him. Be still and know that He is God. Rest.

Prayer: Father, You are my God. I choose right now to stop everything that I’m doing, and do what You tell me. I have come too far to sweat, toil and labour. I choose to rest in You. You have my life in Your hands and You are faithful to do what You have promised. In Jesus name’, Amen.
