Be Strong In The Lord

Posted on Posted in devotions

The problem with our own human strength is that it doesn’t last, nor does it hold up under extreme pressure.  The strength of our love only lasts as long as we feel loved by the other person.  The strength of our faith lasts as long as life doesn’t throw any curve balls our way.  Our minds are strong just as long as we don’t hear any bad news.  Our relationships are strong just as long as we agree on everything.  You see how pitiful our strength is?  It is extremely weak, like trying to hold up a cement block with a tooth pick.  The only thing that is strong enough to endure and bear up under any pressure is the strength of the Lord.  We can’t do anything in our own strength.  We must be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10).  Understand who you are in Him and who He is in you.  God is mighty!  Give Him room to be mighty in you and through you.  Through Him, your love will remain strong even when it is not reciprocated.  With His strength, your faith will remain strong no matter what life throws at you.  Your mind will remain strong no matter what you hear.  Your relationships will remain strong even when you disagree.  The more you learn about God, the more you discover who you are.  If you are God’s daughter, you have the strength of the Lord and you are one powerful lady!  You are a powerhouse in Him!  As soon as you wake up, the kingdom of darkness screams, “Oh no!  She’s awake!”  Be who God made you to be.  Be strong!

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” (Daniel 11:32 KJV)

Prayer:  Father, thank You for empowering and strengthening me for this day in which I live.  I cast off all weakness and rebuke thoughts of fear or regret.  Show me who I am in You and who You are in me.  I believe I have Your strength in me and pray I begin to operate in it.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
