“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalms 34:1
Blessing the Lord at all times was what David decided he would do for the rest of his life. When his adult son rose up against him, when he lost his newborn child, when his life was threatened by Saul, he made a decision to bless the Lord. He had every reason to be angry at how things were going in his life, but he took all of his hurts and pains to the Lord and blessed Him.
We too can learn to bless God at all times. Bless Him while you’re walking or riding the bus. Bless the Lord while you are waiting for your green card. Bless the Lord while you lay in the hospital bed wondering when your healing will manifest. Bless the Lord when your husband tells you he don’t love you anymore. Bless the Lord when you are denied the job position and you don’t know what else to do…
Bless the Lord.
Not only do we bless Him in good times, we bless Him in bad times too. It’s what we do because we know He is our good heavenly Father and our times and seasons are in His hands.
We can’t always choose what happens in our lives, but we can choose to bless His holy name.
Prayer: Father God, I bless you with everything in me. Nothing I have going on is more important than blessing you right now. I bless you and your holy name. I choose not to be silent, but I open my mouth and bless all that you are. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
