“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” Proverbs 24:16
How does a ball bounce back? Easy. It first hits a hard surface or is pressed down and then it comes back up. How do we bounce back? Easy. We also hit a hard surface in life or are pressed down by the weight of something and we come back up. How is it that we sometimes find it so hard to bounce back from difficult situations? Is a rubber ball tougher than the average believer? Of course not. Yet we say, “All is lost! I’ve hit rock bottom. There’s no use in even trying to bounce back from this.” No, no. Not so. All is not lost! When you fall, you get to show what you are made of. You get to show what God can do. When a ball bounces back it is only doing what it was designed to do. We must realize we were designed by God to bounce back, we were designed to get back up, to endure, and to not stop! We were built to last! Hand-crafted to handle all sorts of pressure, hard surfaces, and challenges. A rubber ball is not more durable than a believer, nor is it smarter. It is just a ball, but you are a child of God, and you are smarter, you are stronger, and you are worth so much more. Begin to expect more of yourself. When you know what you are made of, you can have confidence that you will not be down for long, you too will come back up. You will rise up. You will show what your God can do. It’s just how you’re designed.
Prayer: Thank You Father for the encouragement. I believe I was made to bounce back and that’s what I’ll do. Help me persevere by faith and show Your glory in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
