Broken Hearts and Fueled Passion

Posted on Posted in devotions

All of America wept as we learned of the lives tragically taken at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut on yesterday. It was as if we had lost our own child, and our own loved ones, because we did. We watched in disbelief and were deeply saddened as we wondered what could drive someone to commit such evil. Our hearts were and are broken. While we mourn the loss of so many, we together must resolve in our hearts to not give up hope and lose our faith in God. In times like this, we must band together in unity and take a stand in our homes, communities, and in our nation. God is able to bring healing, change, and revival to our nation, but it starts with us. May we begin to take an active role rather than sit back. May we rise up and be the champions of hope and deliverance that God has called us to be. Our light is needed more now than ever. Fulfilling our God-given purpose is needed more now than ever. Let us keep the faith and allow the events of yesterday to fuel us to move forward toward changing the world for the glory of God!

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalms 23:4 (NLT)

Father God,
While our hearts are breaking for those families who have lost their babies and loves ones, we pray You comfort them. We pray that You surround them with love and support. In these dark times in which we live, we pray You fill our hearts with love and a fire that’s all consuming. Help us stay focused on your agenda and not our own. Give us peace of mind and heart as we continue pressing forward. We trust in You and we thank You in advance for the great revival that is taking place right now in our nation and in our world. Use us in a great way in our homes and communities to glorify You by taking a stand. You have our back and through you we can do all things! Thank You that we are victorious through Jesus! In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
