“And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.” (Acts 21:12-14)
People come into our lives who make such an impact on us that we are forever changed. They help us see something new, learn something meaningful and help us grow into someone we never thought we could be.
In the midst of all the changes taking place around you, hold on to what you have learned from the special friend(s) God has brought into your life. Hold on to all of the good. Keep it at the forefront of your heart and they will always be with you no matter where God takes you.
Prayer: Father God, I thank you for the change that you have caused special people to make in my life. I’ve grown in so many ways and have learned so much. I want them to stay in my life, but help me respect the changes that life can bring. Help me hold on to the memories when I can’t hold on to them. Help me hold on to the blessing they’ve meant to me when I can’t see their face. Fill my heart Lord with your love and comfort. Let your will be done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
