Continue to expect God

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise” Matthew 25:1-2, ESV.

Continue to expect God. Your expectations of Him is what He need to make ways out of no way for you. When He says believe, He is telling you to place your expectations in Him. When you expect Him, you prepare accordingly. In the parable of the ten virgins, the five wise virgins were in joyful expectation of the groom’s arrival, so they prepared by bringing their oil lamps and some extra oil just in case the groom was delayed. Is your expectation of God so great that you have brought extra oil, extra time in prayer and more of His Spirit into your life just in case the Lord doesn’t come when you thought He would?

“Oil represents the Holy Spirit, let Him instruct you. Yield to Him now and always maturing in intimate terms with our Lord Jesus, until the day He comes so you are not one of the virgins who’s lamps run out who have not matured and truly knew the Lord. The time is unknown, so always be ready always be growing with Jesus and living every day and hour in intimacy with our King.” – Kathleen Watchinski

It is a time for us to be wise and understand what the will of the Lord is. It is a time for God’s people, who are called by His name, to humble themselves and pray, and seek His face. It is a time for us to occupy till He comes. Expecting is not sitting idle. It is working, preparing, and making ready because we know time is running out and He is coming soon.

Prayer: Yes, Lord. I hear you and I receive your words into my heart. Thank you Father God that you are mindful of me. I place my expectation in you. I know you won’t fail me. You never disappoint those who put their whole trust in you. Fill me with more of your Spirit, and more of your power. Help me to be ready when Yeshua comes for me. Help me occupy till that day comes. Amen.
