Count Your Blessings

Posted on Posted in devotions

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…” Psalms 103:2

Here’s a challenge for you:

Sit down with a pen and paper and count your blessings. List everything the Lord has blessed you with. Write down everything you can think of.

I hadn’t done this exercise in years, but I felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to do so. As I began to write, tears began to flow, and by the time I reached blessing number 30 I was on my knees thanking God. I knew God has blessed me, but I had forgotten how much He has blessed me. That’s a lot of us today. We know we have been blessed by God in many ways, but we forget just how much.

We must no longer compare our lives to someone else’s life. Just because you don’t have the life or the things that someone else might have doesn’t mean God hasn’t richly blessed you.

It’s time to count your blessings dear, then bless the Lord.

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for every blessing you have given me. I bless you right now. I won’t complain or compare, because you have been good to me. You have been gracious. I may not have all I want, but in you, I have all that I need. I bless you Lord! Help me stay reminded of your goodness and grace in my life. Help me remain thankful everyday. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
