Crazy for the Lord

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” Ephesians 2:10, NKJV.

Whenever I tell people how I went skydiving and jumped out of an airplane at 20,000 feet altitude, some look at me like I’m crazy. It’s the same response I get when I tell people how I dated my husband for five years until I finished college and then we married and kissed and were intimate for the first time on our wedding day. Then there’s when I share how we relocated to start a church or how I’m a stay at home mommy of four with a baby on the way… then I really hear, “Girl, you are out of your mind!”

It seems everything God tells us to do as believers is out of this world. You almost can know it’s Him instructing you because it will sound crazy. Jesus did some things that had people looking at Him strange. He taught some things that made some turn away. However, He was determined to do what He was sent here to do.

Dare to be different.

More than likely, people already think you’ve lost your mind, so go on and do what you’ve been called to do. Step out of the boat. Dive into your purpose. Be yourself. You won’t be able to please everybody, so focus on pleasing the Lord. Live for an audience of One and have fun doing it!

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for your encouragement. Help me not to be concerned about what people think. I want to obey you and fulfill your divine purpose for my life. I may seem crazy, and it may sound crazy, but I’m willing to look crazy for you. I love you with all my heart and I pray you use me for your glory! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
