“What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:31, 37 (NKJV)
Too often we find ourselves in the midst of unfavorable situations and circumstances, wondering why and how we got to where we are. Life happens and we try to cope with it’s events by depending on ourselves which ultimately leads to a path of defeat. It’s not until we learn that God has a perfect design for our lives and that he created us to be more than conquerors that we are able to recognize that the feeling of defeat has no place in our lives. Then again, maybe it is just misplaced. Defeat by definition is the act of overcoming or prevailing which means it is actually a word of victory, especially for those of us who believe! We have Jesus and that alone is enough for us to confidently stand in the knowledge that no matter what we face we will always come out victoriously.
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, teach me to trust that your plan for me is perfect and that you know the end of every situation from the beginning. Help me to walk boldly knowing that defeat is DEFEATED in my life and that victory will always prevail with you on my side, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
