Die To Yourself

You can sit and admire a seed, but it’s what that seed has on the inside of it that is most beneficial when brought forth.  Within the seed is potential to produce something great that can bless many, but it must first humble itself, go deep into the earth, and die.  Jesus exemplified this when He humbled Himself, even the death of the cross, was put in a grave, and was quickened to life again.  Jesus’ humility, His death and His resurrection made it possible for us to be changed by the precious life that He carried within Him.  He displayed a selfless love and did what would benefit all of mankind, rather than Himself.  We must do the same.  Is everyone around you benefiting from the precious life-changing gift that God has placed within you or are you living to please only yourself?  You were made to be a tremendous blessing in the earth.  Like a fruitful tree, you were made to live a life that others can come and be richly blessed.  You were made to impact lives in the unique way that God has given you.  Die to yourself.  Let God bring you to a place where everything within you is released into the earth to be a great blessing.

Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.” John 12:24 (MSG)

Father God,
You showed me the way through Your Son Jesus.  He humbled Himself and allowed His own body to be broken and crucified.  You raised Him up with all power and now He lives in me.  All of this I have from that selfless act of love.  Father, I know You have placed within me a precious gift, but it can’t benefit anyone until I first die to myself.  Someone needs what You have placed within me.  So I humble myself, so that You can release the life-changing gift that is in me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
