“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17
I recently was offered a major assignment and immediately thoughts ran through my mind wondering what people would think about it. I snapped out of it when in my spirit I heard, “Are you doing it for them or for me?” Convicted, I repented for not taking authority over those thoughts that clearly exalted themselves against the knowledge of God and got myself together. I said, “I am doing this for my KING.” Daughter of the King, you will have many opportunities, big and small, to show forth the glory of the LORD through your work, your purpose and your life. He will place you in situations by which you will have influence over others and can be an instrument of His grace toward them. The enemy will constantly tempt you to focus on yourself and how everything affects you. This tactic, I believe, is one of his favorites since it is steeped in pride and self-focus. Therefore, you must always be on guard when those thoughts come to lead you away from doing everything in the name of your Lord Jesus. Always remember Who called you, Who keeps you and Who equips you. This will help you keep everything in perspective. So go forth and do all that you do for your KING!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I ask You today to help me be aware of the truth in this scripture. That even the seemingly mundane tasks are to be done in the Name of Jesus. I thank You for even more opportunities to be a living example of Your glory in the earth. I know that You have called me, You keep me and You equip me, therefore my total trust is in You. I thank You in Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
