Do You See Me?

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith than can move mountains, but I do not have love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2 (NIV)

There are many in the body of Christ that are feeling invisible.  They are masking their pain to be accepted within a church that can unwittingly disregard the broken in pursuit of a mission to please God.  Yet, what honors and pleases God more than anything is a heart that “loves.” Jesus’ compassion for the broken is what brought the broken out of bondage.  His love is what grew His disciples.  Every Daughter of The King is called to be a leader that reflects the heart of their Father.  As we pursue God and His plans, let us not forsake the power of love.  Love goes beyond sharing the Gospel, but living the Gospel of Jesus, whom is the Living Word.  Love is reaching out in compassion when it’s not convenient and listening more than speaking when our sisters and brothers are crying out for help.  No matter what our function is within the body of Christ, it always leads to one goal, “love one another.”  Don’t ignore a hurting church.  It is the hurt and broken that Jesus laid down His life for.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, open my eyes and my heart to Your people.  Give me wisdom and discernment as I fellowship with others.  I desire to be led by Your Holy Spirit, so I will not overlook the broken and the hurt.  Let those around me see You whenever they see me as I have been given a heart that reflects Yours.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
