Don’t Take the Knee!

Posted on Posted in devotions

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJ)

Sometimes when a football player “takes a knee” just after the snap of the ball, this symbolizes the game is over. It kills time and sends the statement “we are done fighting”. In the Christian community, we only kneel in victory through prayer. Make sure you are kneeling in prayer for the right purpose and intent. Do not inadvertently send a message to the devil conceding his win and your defeat nor should you give up prematurely. Walking by faith and not by sight means you know that God is sovereign and every situation concerning you is in His hands! We should only take a knee to surrender to Him in prayer or worship. We must yield to the will of God and let Him fight our battles. Give Him praise, declaring His power and grace. Take a scripture to Him that is relevant to your situation. There is no need to build up how big your problem is while in prayer, when in even the most complex situations we find that God is always bigger than them all! There is no problem too tough for God! You must fight the good fight of faith no matter what your situation looks like! You will win if you don’t quit!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, you know my every need. I receive Your peace that surpasses all understanding and help me to come into alignment with You. I receive Your strength to stand through any trial and overcome every obstacle. My faith is in You. Because of your love, I am more than a conqueror! Thank You for Your power that works within me. Amen.
