Don’t Be Full of Yourself

Posted on Posted in devotions

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3

Think of yourself soberly. Don’t be full of yourself or intoxicated with your life. A trick of the enemy is to get you intoxicated with you. Self-pity and self-exaltation completely hinders ministry to those around you because it causes you to be consumed with your own problems or your own successes. Everyone is important to God and everyone matters. Even those that get on your nerves and push your buttons, are very important to Him, and if they are important to Him, they should be important to you. In God’s Kingdom, we are all equal even though we may be at different stages of growth and maturity, different dimensions of His Spirit and grace, and at different levels of faith. You must see yourself as all equally important to God.

Prayer: Father, everyone is important to You and everyone matters. You love others just as much as You love me. Help me to always think of myself soberly. I humble myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
