Bold and courageous people can look someone in the eye and tell them the truth without blinking. If we are going to be effective in this day and time, we will have to learn how to be truthful. This can be a problem if we are easily intimidated by others. Naturally, we want people to like us and to not be angry with us, and nothing upsets people more than hearing the truth. The Bible has within it 66 books of truth. Within in it, God is direct about how He feels about sin, injustice, wickedness, and being upright. The Old Testament prophets told it like it was and didn’t hold back truth from anyone. Then, Jesus later came on the scene in the New Testament and He didn’t hold back either. Jesus’ blunt speech puts us to shame! He loved people enough to tell them the truth. He saw their greater need. We must love others enough to tell them the truth because the truth is what sets people free. It may hurt initially, but it will help them in the long run. Let God begin to show you how to speak the truth in love, how to deal with sin head on, and how to be bold and courageous.
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ…” (Ephesians 4:15 KJV)
Prayer: Father, I pray that You help me to be bold and courageous. I come against fear and intimidation. Show me how to deal with sin head on in my life and in those You send my way. Show me how to speak the truth in love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
