Don’t Believe the Mirage

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…” 1 John 4:1 (KJV)

The devil is the great deceiver. This is one of his greatest tactics, because if he can make us believe we are anything less than what God says we are he wins. The power of life and death are in the tongue. So if the master deceiver can make us believe the untrue, then we will speak the untrue. A good illustration of this is the spider. The spider is a very small creature. However, when light is shined on him he has a shadow that is much greater than he is. Someone walking up at the very moment could be very surprised and may even think at first that the spider was huge. Whatever you are going through, whatever your situation, don’t let the devil deceive you to believe that the situation is bigger than your Provider. Cling to the Word of God, and boldly proclaim His promises. When the devil tries to overwhelm your mind with thoughts that cripple your spirit, take that that very moment to cripple him by reminding him of his future and the fact that you are a Daughter of the King.

Prayer: Father, I ask that You help me to see past my present situation to the promises that You have for me. I know who I am in You, and I ask that You remind me through the simple things daily. I choose today to proclaim Your goodness over my situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
