“But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:14 (KJV)
When you have spiritual discernment, you are able to discern good and evil. You can pick up pending danger and when someone has a good heart. God shows things to you about people so that you can first pray and minister to them when He opens the door. When Jesus sat at the well with the Samaritan woman. He perceived her situation and saw through what she was saying into what was really going on. He spoke truthfully to her in love and it saved not only her life but the entire city. While the Bible instructs us to believe the best of others, we are not to ignore what he shows us. Ignoring signs of addiction, a backslidden condition, depression, abuse, and other problems could mean danger. Don’t ignore the signs trying to believe the best of someone. Pray and ask God to show you what to do and move forward in reaching out to them. (Read John 4)
Prayer: Father God, help me grow in spiritual discernment so that I can discern both good and bad. Lead me by Your Holy Spirit. Help me to not ignore problems I see and give me the courage and wisdom to move forward in reaching them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
