“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Romans 14:17
When we are feeling like the cares of life are weighing on our shoulders and bogging down our minds, at what point do we stop and say, “You know what. I don’t have to operate like this! I am God’s daughter and because I am His daughter I can be happy, at peace and joyful.” The daily stresses of life will try to replay over and over in our mind and situations will tell us that everything is a burden. If we’re not careful we will begin to feel like being a wife is a burden, being a mother is a burden, being a worker in the church is a burden, like our jobs is a burden, and being a sister and friend is a burden. Living burdened down doesn’t produce joy or happiness. Thank the Lord that He lifts our burdens and helps us understand that we are citizens in His Kingdom, and since we are, we have righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. We have something supremely spiritual that can impact every natural aspect of our lives. God’s will is that we live joyFULL, peaceFULL and cheerFULL. We are called to be a joyful mother of children, a cheerful wife to our husbands, a happy servant and minister to others, a happy employee that works as unto the Lord, and a joyful sister in Christ. He promises to be our God so that we can remain care-free and happy. A happy woman is a singing woman, a confident and free woman, and is a great blessing to be around! Let us reject all feelings of worry, fear and anxiety over small things that we can do nothing about and allow our hearts to fill up to the full with God’s supernatural peace and joy in the Holy Ghost!
Prayer: Father, You are my God and I am Yours. Thank You for placing me in Your Kingdom and for teaching me how to receive from You peace and joy. I fill up with it now and pray that it overflows from my life into others around me. I bind every mental distress, inner turmoil and emotional disturbance that’s robbing me of joy. I cast my cares on You right now. I know You care for me. You will take care of all the problems I face. I decree I am a happy, peaceful and joy-filled woman. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
