Have you ever called yourself “stupid”, “slow”, “crazy”, or any other destructive words? Surely those words didn’t make you feel any better about yourself. Many of us understand that we aren’t to destroy others with our words, but we must not destroy ourselves either. You are a treasure! You will make it! You are smart! You are brave! You are God’s daughter! He has a plan for your life! You are loved! Greater is He that’s in you than He that’s in the world! You are more than a conqueror through Jesus! Words like these minister life to our souls. So give them away freely! Scatter encouragement in your home, on your job, and everywhere you go. When everyone is telling you what you can’t do and who you are not, stand and speak out of your mouth that you can and you will. Begin to encourage yourself in the Lord. Prophesy to yourself. Comfort your heart with your own words. Minister life to yourself. You will find that the same words you use to build up yourself will be the very same words you minister to those around you.
“Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.” (Ephesians 4:29 AMP)
Prayer: Father, thank you for encouraging me. No matter what others think or say, I say what You say. I am Your daughter and You are my Father. As you build me up, help me to build up others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
