“There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.” Ecclesiastes 2:24 (KJV)
If you have children, you know that your house is bound to get messy. Spaghetti will find its way on the floor and somehow your clean carpet will not be so clean. Your walls… will have stains and things you value will break. It would be insane to try to keep a home spotless when you have children. Likewise, it is insane to try to live a spotless life in an imperfect and fallen world. You will miss it from time to time and you will make mistakes. You will disappoint others and yourself. You will discover some terrifying things in yourself you never thought existed. It’s no surprise to God! He knew everything about you when He chose you. You, my friend, are on a wonderful journey and there will be twists, turns and surprises, but you will reach your destination in God. He will finish the work He started in you! Knowing who you are in Christ is not the destination, but the beginning of your journey. Just keep walking. Keep growing. Keep living. Don’t be so hard on yourself or impatient with your growth. Enjoy the journey! Learn from each mistake you are bound to make, and let your appreciation for Jesus deepen more and more.
Prayer: Yes, Lord. I hear You and boy do I love You. I receive this encouragement in my heart. I appreciate Your love and mercy. Show me how to enjoy the journey on the way to being all You called me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
