Lord, Save My Children

Posted on Posted in devotions

“..for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.” Isaiah 49:25b (KJV)

If you ever desire to deepen your prayer life, have children.  They will cause you to pray fervently everyday.  You find yourself praying through their childhood years, through their adventurous teenage years and into their adult life.  Even after they are grown and are out of the house, they are always on our minds and heart.  There are so many parents who are heartbroken over children that have strayed away from their upbringing.  They have chosen to live the complete opposite of what they’ve been taught and it’s extremely hurtful to watch.  What is a parent to do?  Trust in the promise of God that He will save your children.  It doesn’t matter how far they have strayed, they are never so far that God can’t reach them. The spirit of rebellion is not more powerful than the spirit of God.  If God could save you, He can save them too.  No matter how long it takes, continue to love them and keep on standing in faith.  God will do just what He said.

Prayer:  Father,  You know how much I love my children, but they were Yours before they were ever mine.  I give them to you.  I pray You deliver them from the power of darkness and translate them into Your Kingdom of light.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
