Fall In Love With the Word

Posted on Posted in devotions

Think back to the days when spending time in the Word wasn’t a chore.  Do you remember how happy and fulfilled you were when all you wanted was more of God?  God’s Word is our primary tool in fixing what’s broken in our lives.  So we can’t just let it sit on the table and treat it with disregard. His Word brings comfort when we are sorrowful and it strengthens us when we are weak.  It navigates us to our destiny and teaches us about God’s character. It converts our soul and makes us wise.  It brings light when things look dark around us and we don’t know what to do.  His Word super charges our faith and reminds us of what is possible only with God.  It is alive and full of power, and gets deep down into the crevices of our heart to correct what’s not right.  Never underestimate the power of God’s Word in your life.  When you esteem it as precious, it enriches your life and adds value to you.  When you view it as powerful, it makes you strong and mighty.  When you speak it over your life, it changes everything.  When you receive it as final authority, it cancels any lie from the enemy. When you crave for it as for bread, it satisfies and nourishes your soul.  It is the most important resource in your life.  So take the time to open the pages of your Bible today and look for opportunities to apply what you read in your everyday life.

Oh, how I love your instructions!  I think about them all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.” Psalms 119:97-98 (NLT)

Father,
Create in me a love for Your Word.  I esteem it as precious and necessary in my life. Let it be sweet and satisfying to my soul. Let understanding your Word and following Your instructions be on the forefront of my heart and mind today.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
