Fight For Your Marriage

Posted on Posted in devotions

With all of the uproar surrounding the fight to preserve the ‘sanctity of marriage’ between one man and one woman, many of us are entering into it half-suited and walking backwards.  How can we stand for a holy and righteous cause as such, when we are not fighting for the sanctity of our own marriages?  As hard as it is to believe, we face a greater crisis in our own lives.  The divorce rate has shot through the roof nationwide, and a high percentage of marriages are ending in legal separations with bitter disputes over who gets the kids, the house and the car.  What are we doing?  Who are we trying to reach?  What world are we trying to impact for God?  There’s a clear war needing to be won in our homes.  Go and minister to your husband, strengthen your marriage, rekindle your flame, get on one accord, and put God back at the center of your marriage, while fighting for the cause.  Change begins with us.  The world needs to see holiness from lives that are completely surrendered to God.  Without true examples in the earth, we are only people that want to pick a fight and debate.  We are on the Lord’s side and our lives must clearly show it.  Our voice is heard the loudest when we live the Gospel that we preach to the glory of God before others!

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV)

Prayer:  Father God, I want to change the world for Your glory.  Let it start with me.  Let the great change I want to see in the world, first begin with Your great change within me.  I pray that You strengthen my marriage, and Your Holy Spirit rules and reigns in my home.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
