Fight, Lady

“God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.” Ephesians 6:10-12 (MSG)

Have you ever had the urge to fight? When you were young, you may have had to fight to get home from school, or fight to keep your lunch money, or fight to protect your siblings. Some of us have a long history of being brawlers who refused to be bullied by anyone. Well, when you come to know the Lord, your fists and weapons will no longer do you any good. You need spiritual weapons to fight a spiritual war against a real spiritual enemy. Don’t let the enemy push you around and dictate what will be. You have authority in Christ! Submit to the authority of Jesus. Use the Name of Jesus. Plead the blood Jesus. Speak the words of Jesus. Walk in the authority you have in Jesus. Draw a line of protection in the Spirit and make your decree. Don’t ask for anyone to stand in prayer and fight for you, if you’re not willing to fight for what you believe too. You can’t beat the enemy with your fists, but you can be victorious over the enemy through your faith in God. Fight, Lady!

Prayer: Father, I’m tired of seeing the enemy operate in my life and in the lives of those around me. You didn’t accomplish all that You did through Jesus for me to sit down in defeat. I want to get in the fight but I realize this fight isn’t physical. It’s spiritual. It can’t be won with arguments, or my fists or with my attitude. It can only be won by my faith in You. Strengthen me Lord for this spiritual battle. I choose to fight the good fight of faith! In Jesus Name, Amen.
