Free to Love

Posted on Posted in devotions

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13 (NKJV)

To enjoy a life of freedom in God took everything Jesus had. He purchased our freedom and paid a debt we couldn’t have paid even with perfect credit or a life rich in good deeds. We’ve been made free! However, He didn’t purchase our freedom so that we can return to a life of bondage or a life where we bind others. We are free to love in the way we have always desired to love, but was unable to. We are free to be a blessing in other people’s lives, not condemn others who don’t have what we have or know what we know. We are free to serve others, not hoard our time to ourselves and our own selfish ambitions. We are free to forgive and give the same mercy we ourselves have received. We are free to share the love of Christ with those who have never heard the truth. We are free to live happy not because everything is going great all of the time in our lives, but because Jesus is the center of our joy and our trust is in Him. We are free to be a force of good in the earth in a way that brings God glory. We are free!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for setting me free through Your Son Jesus! I pray I embrace this freedom I have in You and use it properly to advance Your Kingdom and make You smile. In Jesus name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
