Gather Up the Fragments

Posted on Posted in devotions

As Daughters of the King, we have a great example for a woman who was creative, industrious, entrepreneurial, intelligent, patient, fore-seeing and a planner, just to name a few. Who is she? She is the woman in Proverbs 31. She was not apprehensive about anything she or her household may face because she was prepared. Before she bought a field she considered it. No impulse buying for this woman. She used the gifts and talent given to her by the Lord to bless her household. Where did she find the time? Throughout this scripture you find her masterful use of time and resources. Jesus had a similar situation when he fed the 5000. After they were all fed, He instructed His disciples to “gather up the fragments”. When they did this they had twelve baskets full of food over and above what they had eaten. I am sure it did not look like twelve baskets full when it was spread all around, but once the fragments were gathered together the increase was evident. What is the lesson here? Gather the fragments in your life whether it is time, money or other resources. Allow the Lord to show you where the fragments are in your household. Become a master at managing your use of time and resources and enjoy the increase!

“When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.” John 6:12 (KJV)

Dear Father,

I desire to use all of the gifts and talents You have blessed me with for Your glory. Please show me the fragments in my life and in my household that I may gather them for Your glory. Help me to be master at my use of time and resources. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
