“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
We are first introduced to the phrase “will of God” in the New Testament. It is found mentioned twenty three times. The phrase, “will of the Lord” is also found twice. What is God’s will? God’s will is His determination, His choice, His purpose and decree. It is good and acceptable and well pleasing in His sight. It is perfect and complete. God will never force His will upon us. It is up to us to submit our will to His. Anyone that seeks to know God’s will and do only His will show their relationship with the Lord to be true. All of heaven does what the Lord wills. In order for His Kingdom to come on earth in our lives and our surrounding, we must submit and align our will with the will of God. When you pray, “Lord, I want to be in Your will. Reveal to me where you want me to be and what you want me to do.” That is a great place to start. Going through is not a sign that you’re outside of God’s will. As absence of conflict is not a sign that you are in His will. Having to suffer is not an indicator that you missed it and are not where you’re supposed to be. We aren’t led by circumstance. We are to be led solely by the Spirit of God. One of Holy Spirit’s responsibilities in our lives is to lead us and help us do the will of the Father. One thing is for certain, when you are in God’s perfect will, you will receive a continual supply of wisdom and revelation. It will pour out like a running faucet. You will see increased favor on your life. You will see increase in effectiveness and overall sense of peace and fulfillment. This is no time to wonder if you are where you are supposed to be and wondering what your assignment is in the earth. You must seek God in prayer so that you can know without a doubt. He will permit you to have what you desperately want, but that is not His perfect will. You stand in the safest place on the planet when you are in God’s perfect will for your life.
Prayer: Father God, I hear You speaking to my heart. Lead me by Your Holy Spirit into your perfect will for my life. I yield to no other spirit but Yours. Keep me in Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
