“But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the Name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Acts 3:6 NLT
This is the familiar passage where Peter and John are walking by the Beautiful Gate as they go to the Temple for 3 o’clock prayer service. They see the crippled beggar who asks for money. Peter proceeds to tell him they do not have silver or gold, but he will give him what he has. He speaks the name of Jesus and the man is healed.
We are often in need or asking for money, what people really need is more valuable than silver, gold or money. They need Jesus. I need Jesus every single day. I have grown through my circumstances to depend on Him for everything. Yes, money is a necessity, but in a mind and heart-sick world, people need Jesus. I challenge you today, give what you have. Give the listening ear of Jesus. Give the patience or forgiveness of Jesus. Give the love, mercy and grace of Jesus. Give your time – Jesus was always giving of His time. Give prayer – Jesus prayed for his disciples and believers. Give of what you have to give. We are all unique and have different things to give. I believe God intentionally does not always give us everything, for we would never need Him or anyone else. It teaches us to share our lives, money or blessings with others. Today, think about all God has given you, and in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazarene, get up and help heal a sin sick soul or mind today. All of us need the love of Jesus. Give what you have!!!
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for every blessing in my life. I thank You for what I have and don’t have. I thank You that what I have, I can give abundantly to others. Because I know You, I can give Jesus. Show me and let me be a giver of myself, the Christ that is in me to those You place in my path. If it is money, time, a hug, a kind word or smile, let me always be reminded that I have something to give. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
