When you hear that someone is “on the edge” or “on the fence”, it means that they haven’t given themselves completely to God. They may know about God, heard the preaching, have witnessed the love of God in their lives, and can feel God drawing them close, but they haven’t made the choice to dive in. They stand at the edge of the pool in life, wrestling with the idea of being “sold out” and opposing thoughts that tell them it doesn’t take all that. But before you shake your head and say, “oh poor them,” examine your heart. Even after you have received the Lord, daughters of the King, be careful to continue to pursue God with reckless abandonment. If you are not moving forward in your relationship with God, you’re moving backwards. If you are not growing, you’re shrinking back in fear. God doesn’t want us to shrink back, or to back down. He wants us to go full steam ahead into the life that He destined for us to live. He is our highest priority.
“The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!” Habakkuk 3:19 (AMP)
You have brought me a long way in my life. While I can see the change You have made in me, I can’t become complacent. There’s nothing for me in the world. Following You is my priority. Advancing your kingdom is my priority. Help me to keep moving forward in hot pursuit of You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
