“Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “woman where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “no one Lord”. And Jesus said to her, “neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” John 8:10-11 (NKJV)
This is a story of a woman who was caught committing adultery by the scribes and the Pharisees. They brought her to Jesus to test His thoughts on the matter, because according to the law they were to stone her. However, Jesus only said, “He that is without sin among you, let Him throw a stone at her first.” He began to write on the ground. After a while, no one was left standing there but Him and the woman. I was once that woman committing adultery. I was looking for love in all the wrong places and “found” it in someone who wasn’t available mentally, spiritually, physically, or emotionally; nor had my best interest at heart. It wasn’t until a series of infidelities and later marrying him that I began to seek God. The accusers were in my mind and with each infidelity my eyes were opened to how much I needed to go to God. I went to Him and repented from my heart and found forgiveness and unconditional love. God’s purpose for sending Jesus to Earth was not to condemn us, but to give us life; He came to give us a way back to God when we mess up. We all have sinned and fallen short of His glory. Maybe your sin is not my sin; whether it be lying, stealing, cheating, or any action that does not glorify God. You can come to Him and receive the love and forgiveness He has waiting for you. His love for you is unconditional and nothing can separate you from it. My prayer is that you will accept His love and forgiveness that Jesus extends when we repent. God only wants the best for you. Bring your situation, whatever it is, to Him and allow Him to heal your heart and deliver you.
Prayer: Father, I repent with a sincere heart, asking You to forgive me of my sins known and unknown. I ask that You open my heart and allow me to feel Your love and receive Your forgiveness. Lord, I ask You to heal my heart and deliver me so that I won’t make that mistake again. Thank You Lord for sending Jesus in my place to die on the cross for my sins. I ask these things in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
