“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 (KJV)
If you have ever watched a boxing match before, it can be intense and exhausting. There seems to be blow after blow, until somebody gets tired or the stronger, more skilled boxer hits the other with one strategic blow that knocks them out early in the match. Likened to a boxing match, the enemy enjoys tiring you out. He enjoys the blow by blow rounds that can stun and injure, as long as you let it go on. You have the strength and the applied skill of using the Word to end the battle early with a knockout that sends the enemy back to the ground in which He came and you are left unscathed. Don’t play His game. Be mindful of the enemy’s tactics to lure you into an argument or the mental games of speaking doubt and worry into your life. Shut it down by exercising your faith and God-given wisdom in those situations. In love, tell the people in your life that are under the enemy’s influence that you are not going any further with them down that road. The energy you would spend in the enemy’s ring is energy taken away from the mission God has for you. A simple TKO helps you stay on the go!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are my strength and my refuge. I know that you are on my side and nothing and no one can contend against you. I am submitted to you and I resist the devil and all temptations to take me off course from what you have pre-destined for me. Help me to learn and apply your Word in my daily life. Today, I live by your Word and it is my power. I will not be afraid of the weapons formed to destroy me, but I stand confident in you, knowing the enemy must flee from me as I live your truth. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
