God Has a Sense of Humor

I’ll never forget it.  My husband and I were attending a music ministry event.  My husband was there to minister through music and I was there to support him.  Different music artists came up to sing songs, perform poetry, and rap.  It was an awesome time in God.  Towards the end of the event, the host made an altar call and asked for anyone to come up to the front.  To this day, I can’t remember what the invitation was for, but all I remember is walking up to the front.  I had already received Jesus in my heart, but I wanted more of Him.  I wanted to experience more of Him in my life.  So I went down and bowed down on my knees.  With my face down and my eyes closed, I worshiped my heavenly Father.  I told Him how great He is and how blessed I am to know Him.  While I was bowed down worshiping Him, I felt a cloth covering over my head.  I didn’t know what it was.  I thought that for whatever reason someone had laid a cloth over my head.  I didn’t know why and I didn’t care.  I just kept worshiping God.  So as I’m bowed down with my face to the floor and my eyes closed, I feel the cloth move over my head to the back of my neck.  Wondering what this was, I opened my eyes and began to bring my head up.  I suddenly noticed that I was under a woman’s dress!  I jumped back so fast and sat down!  The woman was totally unaware!  While I was worshiping, she must have stepped back, causing her dress to cover my head!  Everyone on the front row started to laugh and so did I!  I will never forget that!  I guess He truly does cover me.  God has a sense of humor.  Without it, life would be dull and boring.  He brings joy and laughter into our lives.  Receive His joy and a merry heart today!

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” Proverbs 17:22 (NLT)

Father God,
I love Your wonderful sense of humor!  You bring so much joy and laughter into my life!  Thank You!  I receive Your joy and a merry heart.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
