While cleaning up at church, I came across a wrapped Christmas present with someone’s name on it. Here it was almost two weeks after Christmas and someone’s gift lay undiscovered and neatly placed on top of a box. I wondered what would happen if the person never came to get what belonged to them. Would the gift be given to someone else? Would the person be hunted down? Would the giver wait until next Christmas and try again? Or would they open the gift and enjoy it themselves since the person never came? I would hope that they would hunt the person down, as I would want someone to do that for me. I wouldn’t want something just sitting there that I could use. My thinking is, “If I don’t come to you, please come to me!” I believe that’s where many of us are today. While you have those who know how to boldly go to God in prayer and receive what He has promised them, some of us are not as bold and confident when it comes to approaching a holy God. We may want every single thing God has for us, but we have a problem going and getting it. Whether we have disqualified ourselves, or talked ourselves out of receiving God’s best due to feelings of unworthiness, we still have a loving Father that bids us to come. However, if we don’t come to Him, He comes to us. He sees you under the rock. He sees you hiding. He sees you outside the door, when you should be in the secret place with Him. He meets you at your point of need. When your confidence is low, God hunts you down, lifts your head and remind you of how much He loves you and the great things He has in store for you! All you have to do is receive!
“God’s gifts and God’s call are under full warranty—never canceled, never rescinded.” Romans 11:29 (MSG)
Thank You for the awesome love You have for Your daughters. There’s nothing we could do that could separate us from Your love. Thank You that the gifts that You have for every one of us will never be cancelled or revoked. It is Your pleasure to give us Your best in every way and even if You have to come lift up the rock we have hidden under, You will do it in a heartbeat. You love us and nothing can change that. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
