One evening, I arrived home and didn’t have the door key. Needless to say, my husband who I love, was inside sleeping like a ROCK! He didn’t hear me knocking on the door like the police. He didn’t hear me ringing the doorbell repeatedly. He didn’t hear me throw a bucket next to the window. That man was completely knocked out. So I yelled next to the bedroom window, “Baby, open the door!”, and then seconds later, I saw him at the front door. I asked him, “You didn’t hear all of the noise I was making?” He said, “No!” I asked, “What woke you up?” He said, “I heard your voice.” Likewise, our tantrums, our emotional fits and pouting accomplishes nothing at getting God’s attention. You don’t have to make a huge fuss to try to get the attention of a loving Father. God’s ears are attentive to your cries! He is near to the brokenhearted and will draw close to you when you draw close to Him. He is ready to intervene in your life and in your situation. Let Him hear the cry of your heart, let God hear your voice!
“The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.” Psalms 34:15 (KJV)
Thank You for watching over me and being so attentive to my cries. You hear my voice and You draw close to me when I draw close to You. When I face difficult situations in my life, help me to always stay reminded that You hear my cry. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
