“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth
my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:2,3
In the morning, before you go about your busy day, pause to get before the Lord. Sure, you can pray on the way. Sure, you can pray in the shower or while at your desk, but there is something about one on one time with God with no distractions. It’s not always about the amount of time that you spend in prayer, but the quality of those minutes that you give that’s of most importance. If you can only offer fifteen minutes alone with God, make sure those fifteen minutes are set apart for just you and Him. Give Him your undivided attention and you will not want to leave. He will be like still waters, like the calm ocean that quiets your soul, refreshes you and reminds you of who He is and who you are in Him.
Prayer: Father, I need You. My time with You is precious to me. Help me to always come to You. No matter how long I can stay at Your feet, help me to come anyway. I need Your strength. Lord, I need You. I can’t do anything without You. Refresh me and calm every fear and anxiety in my heart. Fill me with Your love and comfort me like only You can. I love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
