Grace Given & Grace Received

Posted on Posted in devotions

“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you:  Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.” Romans 12:3 (NIV)

Grace, grace, and MORE grace!  That’s what we receive from the Lord.  When you are living righteously for God, striving daily to be perfected, it can sometimes become easy to forget that we were all once “use to be’s” and it was ONLY God’s grace that redeemed and restored us back to righteousness and into relationship with Him.  The Holy Spirit recently reminded me of the importance of walking in humility and remaining humble, not becoming big headed because of how GOD has favored us and because His grace has allowed us to walk in this Christian walk.  It’s not anything that we do that keeps us on the narrow path, but it’s because Jesus loves us so much, he gave us the gift of grace that allows us to live for Him.  Let us remember to give and extend grace to those who may miss the mark from time to time, but are trying to get it right.  The same way that Christ extends grace to us as we walk toward being perfected in him, let’s help our brother or sister walk down the path of righteous with love and grace as Jesus has done for us.

Prayer:  Awesome Creator, how excellent are You in all of Your ways!  Father, I thank You giving us the gift of grace!  Keep us steady in You and help us to walk in humility, knowing that it’s only because of what Jesus did for us, that we have been given GRACE to walk in the path of righteousness.  YOU Lord get the glory out of our lives!  In the Name of Christ Jesus, Amen!
