“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” (Isaiah 61:1)
God designed our bodies in such a way that it can heal on its own. A broken bone grows healthy tissue immediately after it breaks and overtime we find that it is stronger than before. However, an infection can prevent healing of what’s broken. Also, if the bone healed out of place, a doctor will refracture the bone so that it can heal properly. While this sounds painful, the doctor has the patient’s best interest in mind. God is our Great Physician and He has our best interest in mind. He knows how to heal a broken heart. He also knows when you have healed properly. While you may be praying for God to heal a broken relationship in your life, He is first looking to see if there is an infection in you, any deep-rooted issues in your heart that must be healed first. Have you healed properly? You may think time and distance has helped you to heal. You may think avoidance, ignoring calls and shutting someone out has helped you heal, but it only causes you to heal out of place. God will break you down and instruct you to set things right so that you can heal properly. God’s objective is that we heal and are made stronger than ever, but we must trust Him. Time doesn’t heal all wounds, especially not emotional ones. Only God does. Set things right with those you have fallen out with. Let God help you to deal with any and every deep-rooted issue in your heart that may be hindering the healing process. Be broken into submission to His will so that you can heal the right way.
Prayer: Father God, I thank You that You are my Great Physician. You know how to heal any broken heart. I come to You praying that You heal my heart. Help me deal with any issues that I may have. I need to set things right again with those I have fallen out with. I submit to Your will and Your way. Strengthen me Lord and help me do what is right. Make me stronger than before. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
