He Pours In and Pours Out

“Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:21, ESV

One day God gave me a vision of a little girl carrying a bucket to pour out. She is walking with her pail in hand, and after she empties it, she goes and stands. Looking up to heaven, she lifts her empty pail so it can be filled. She then goes and pours out again. She does this continuously all throughout the day. She loves being poured into as much as she loves pouring out. Then, God revealed this little girl is me, but she can be you too. Many wonder their purpose in life. Our purpose is to be poured into and poured out of continually. There is no greater joy and no greater power you will ever know than when you are yielded to God every minute of every hour. And though you may not be perfect, you can be perfectly yielded to God. Let Him fill you completely and pour out of you into the lives of those who are thirsty for Him. It is not you that people need. They need Jesus. It is not your opinions they need. They need His truth. It is not your strength that can deliver them; it is the strength and power of His Holy Spirit. Present yourself to Him and lift up your heart, asking God to fill you completely, not for your pleasure, but so that He can pour Himself out of you continually until He returns for you.

Prayer: Father God, I come to you asking you to fill me with your love and your power, and pour yourself out of me into a world that is longing for something real. I have nothing to give them on my own. Only you can save them. Only you can heal them. Fill my empty heart as I lift it up and pour out of me. I may not be perfect, Lord, but help me to be perfectly yielded to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
